There are so many amazing read aloud stories you can share with your students at Christmas! I ended up writing several different lists for you because it's just so hard to choose! Here are more of my students' favorites:
CHRISTMAS READ ALOUD #1
"Olive, the Other Reindeer" by Vivian Walsh: When Olive the dog hears the line "All of the other reindeer" in a Christmas song, she misinterprets it as "Olive, the other reindeer" and sets off to the North Pole to help Santa deliver presents. This charming and witty story celebrates the spirit of friendship and inclusion.
CHRISTMAS READ ALOUD #2
"Dream Snow" by Eric Carle: Did you know Eric Carle has a Christmas read aloud? I didn't for the longest time! In this delightful tale, a farmer dreams of snow on Christmas Eve and wakes up to discover that his dream has come true. With its signature collage illustrations and simple text, "Dream Snow" is perfect for young readers who are just beginning to explore the magic of the holiday season.
CHRISTMAS READ ALOUD #3
"Bear Stays Up for Christmas" by Karma Wilson: My students love the whole Bear series. In this one, Bear's friends are determined to keep him awake for Christmas, but as the night goes on, Bear finds himself falling asleep. Will he be able to stay awake for Christmas?
I hope these suggestions are helpful! Gather your little ones, grab a cozy blanket, and let the magic of Christmas come alive through the power of storytelling. Happy reading!
