As primary teachers, one of the most delightful moments in a classroom is when you gather your students around for a read-aloud. The famous hungry caterpillar on his gastronomic adventure through various foods! My students love the predictable nature of this book, and it also reinforces the days of the week! Bonus!


3. A Bad Case of Stripes by David Shannon


Camilla Cream is a girl who develops a peculiar case of stripes due to peer pressure. This story encourages students to embrace their individuality and celebrates the importance of being true to oneself. It's also a great way to introduce the concepts of peer pressure with the class in a safe and entertaining way.


4. The Day the Crayons Quit by Drew Daywalt


In this cute story, Duncan has a dilemma when his crayons decide to go on strike. For my students, it's Oliver Jeffers' sweet illustrations that really bring this tale to life, showcasing the unique personalities of each crayon.


5. Iggy Peck, Architect by Andrea Beaty


Iggy Peck is a young boy with a passion for building amazing structures out of unexpected materials. The rhyming text and cute illustrations will hopefully inspire our students to dream big and embrace their creative talents. This one is perfect if you do a lot of STEM lessons in your classroom.
